CommQuest is in search of a Jail Aftercare Coordinator. This position involves conducting essential Substance Use Disorder (SUD) evaluations in person, facilitating a more efficient transition to aftercare services. You will assist the current Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor (CDCA) to ensure their focus remains on existing residential clients. Additionally, this role includes providing transportation and direct support from incarceration to treatment services.

Job Duties:

  • Exhibit honesty and respectful communication with colleagues and clients to foster a trauma-informed care environment that prioritizes emotional, psychological, and physical safety.
  • Enhance access to care by orienting new clients to the agency's treatment philosophy, operational hours, service offerings, client rights and responsibilities, grievance procedures, and confidentiality regulations.
  • Required experience working with adults and/or children facing severe mental health challenges or addiction recovery, along with strong communication skills.
  • Provide crisis intervention as necessary and deliver client and family education, demonstrating proficiency in clinical documentation, assessments, and supervisory evaluations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work Schedule:

Candidates must have been unemployed for the past six months to qualify for this grant-funded position. This is a Temporary, Full-Time role based at the Canton/Massillon campus locations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in counseling, social work, or a related field. Certification or licensure as CDCA, LCDC II, LCDC III, LICDC, or LICDC-CS is mandatory. A minimum of one year of experience as a chemical dependency counselor is required. If working with adolescents, at least one year of experience with this demographic is necessary. Knowledge of addiction, Alcoholics Anonymous, other 12-step programs, assessments, treatment planning, and both individual and group counseling is essential. Proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
  • Ability to engage with the public, especially in crisis situations, while maintaining composure and the capacity to assess situations quickly to support the vulnerable populations served by CommQuest.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, intermediate verbal and written communication abilities, discretion in handling confidential information, sound judgment, and organizational skills are necessary. Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
  • Physical capability to stand and navigate steps throughout the facility frequently as per shift responsibilities. A valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and a driving record compliant with agency insurance standards are required. A background check must be passed in accordance with agency policies.
  • Additional criteria may be required by Ohio Means Jobs.
