Position Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in delivering direct patient care and collaborates with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure comprehensive treatment for patients in an outpatient environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a valid State Licensed Practical Nursing license.
  • Accurately assess and calculate medication dosages.
  • Assist physicians and nurse practitioners as required.
  • Conduct telephone triage and meticulously document all interactions with patients and healthcare providers.
  • Engage in the revenue cycle by confirming authorizations and referrals, and communicate any additional authorization needs to the Billing Associate.
  • Document appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes for services rendered.
  • Prepare, clean, and stock examination rooms, ensuring a welcoming environment for patients and staff.
  • Monitor and manage medical supply inventory.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Communicate effectively and courteously, demonstrating empathy towards patients and their families.
  • Provide respectful and dignified treatment to all patients and their families.
  • Utilize patient satisfaction metrics to evaluate effectiveness.
  • Adhere to universal precautions and OSHA standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Current LPN state license is mandatory.
  • Preferred: Minimum of 1 year of experience in pediatric nursing within an office setting.
  • Must hold a valid CPR certification.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Awareness of common safety hazards and precautions to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Demonstrated compassion for patients and their families.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a healthcare team.
