Culinary Associate Team Leader

As a Culinary Associate Team Leader at Whole Foods Market 365, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of our culinary operations. This position requires a high level of energy, enthusiasm, and a passion for our products and company philosophy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Team Leader: Collaborate with the Team Leader to achieve sales, margin, expense, and labor targets.
  • Lead and Develop Team Members: Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel team members to sustain a high-performance team and minimize turnover.
  • Customer Service: Follow through on customer questions and requests, resolving concerns as needed.
  • Departmental Operations: Assist the Team Leader in analysis of sales, reports, and labor, and maintain awareness of customer flows and needs.
  • Point Person and Departmental Person-in-Charge: Function as the point person and departmental person-in-charge in the absence of the Team Leader.
  • Team Morale and Morale: Foster and encourage a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 18+ months retail team member experience and 6+ months of supervisory experience.
  • Skills: Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills, with a growth mindset towards greater responsibility and ownership.
  • Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of supported department(s) products, with a thorough understanding of regulatory and safety policies and procedures.
Working Conditions:
  • Lifting: Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Standing/Walking: In an 8-hour work day, standing/walking 6-8 hours.
  • Hand Use: Single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a wet and cold environment, with exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals and temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
