Licensed Practical Nurse

At Mayo Clinic, we're committed to delivering exceptional patient care and advancing the field of healthcare. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you'll play a vital role in our team's efforts to provide compassionate and personalized care to our patients.
The LPN will work under the direct supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or other assigned supervisor, accepting delegation and collaborating with the healthcare team to meet the needs of patients and families. Key responsibilities include:
- Collecting data through observation and communicating information to assist in patient assessment and care planning.
- Participating as a member of the healthcare team and accepting delegation from the RN/assigned supervisor and provider in meeting the needs of patients and families.
- Delivering care in accordance with the patient care plan, policies, and procedures of the organization and principles of relationship-based care.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- Graduation from a school of practical nursing or passing the LPN boards after a defined period in a professional nursing program.
- One year of LPN experience working in an applicable setting, with one year of experience within the last five years preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and experience working in a team environment.
- Computer skills, with prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
