Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team in the Ambulatory Care setting. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a physician or assigned supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Perform assigned tasks of direct and indirect care in the ambulatory setting to meet the care needs of patients.
- Participate as a member of the healthcare team and accept appropriate delegation from the RN or physician in meeting needs of the patient/family.
- Perform assigned tasks in accordance with the patient care plan, policies and procedures of the organization, and principles of relationship-based care.
- Carry out designated activities that are within those functions limited by law to unlicensed healthcare personnel.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent and graduate from a Medical Assistant diploma or associate degree program or have obtained a Medical Assistant Certification.
- If graduation did not occur within the last two years, one year of recent medical assistant experience working in an applicable setting.
Additional qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Computer proficiency required, including prior experience with electronic medical record systems.
- Ability to work daytime hours, flexibility may be required to meet staffing needs.
- Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.
License or certification:
- Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association, American Red Cross.
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA), or registration (RMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) is preferred.

Monday – Friday, clinic hours. Day(s) off will vary based on patient care needs.
Weekend Schedule:
On-call obligation of 4 hours every 5th- 6th weekend Saturday morning.
