Position Overview:
The Engineering & Maintenance Manager oversees the management and execution of all utility systems, infrastructure, and equipment maintenance within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily implementation of the Utility Systems Management Plan and Fire Safety Management Plan.
- Ensure compliance with the Joint Commission Environment of Care and Life Safety standards.
- Administer the computerized maintenance management system to guarantee timely responses to requests and corrective actions.
Preventive Maintenance:
- Ensure completion of all preventive maintenance tasks and develop programs for new equipment based on manufacturer recommendations or an Alternative Equipment Maintenance (AEM) program.
Budget Management:
- Participate in operational and capital budgeting processes while managing assigned budgets.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with organizational leaders to support daily activities, projects, and events.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent with a master level license or certification in a building trade, OR
- Associate degree in engineering, applied science, facilities management, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in engineering roles related to facility management, operations, maintenance, or environmental management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- 5 years of management or supervisory experience.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Certification in Healthcare Facilities Management (CHFM) is preferred.
- Master level licensure or certification in a building trade is desirable.
- Valid driver's license required.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of hospital equipment and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Familiarity with maintenance and repair management systems.
- Understanding of building operation design and construction standards.
- Proven project management skills and excellent communication abilities.
- Proficient in computer applications related to work order systems and scheduling software.
Salary Range:
$73,500 - $117,500
