Edison Smart® is a prominent international contractor and systems integrator known for executing high-caliber projects globally. Our organization is recognized for its commitment to excellence in project delivery.

As a BAS Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the execution of diverse projects spanning various sectors, including life sciences, data centers, commercial spaces, and educational institutions.

This role entails supporting the operational efficiency of the department. The individual in this position will be expected to undertake additional responsibilities and tasks as necessary throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop building automation systems tailored for large commercial office environments, data centers, and educational facilities.
  • Engage in project meetings to gather essential information.
  • Collaborate with contractors to ensure the compatibility and feasibility of all equipment.
  • Work alongside other design engineers to recommend appropriate specifications.
  • Prepare comprehensive engineering documentation, including network diagrams, point-to-point wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, flow diagrams, valve and damper schedules, bill of materials, and equipment submissions for client approval.
  • Provide technical assistance to the sales team.
  • Promote employee engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all quality and safety standards and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Understanding of industrial HVAC applications, with the ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard communication protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, and/or Lon, enabling the creation of system network diagrams and integration with third-party equipment and systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio is preferred; familiarity with AutoCAD or other BIM software is also advantageous.
