Position Overview:
The Accounting Operations Manager is tasked with overseeing daily General Accounting (GA) functions for the US, coordinating between internal shared services and external partners to ensure efficient service delivery and timely month-end closing and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
This role is crucial in maintaining compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), organizational policies, and regulatory controls across various divisions and legal entities.

The individual will be responsible for ensuring that service commitments align with established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Essential Duties:
- Facilitate the migration of processes and services to the regional shared service organization, including:
   • Planning the transition of activities to a regional service center or outsourced partners.
   • Recruiting and selecting the Record to Report team for the region.
   • Overseeing the transition of activities and providing escalation support throughout the process.
   • Establishing and maintaining performance metrics, KPIs, and goal-setting processes.

As operations develop, additional activities will be transitioned to outsourced partners while more complex tasks will be integrated into the regional shared services.

Team Development:
- Build General Accounting teams capable of executing the full range of GA activities for the region.
- Direct the recruitment and growth of GA personnel in alignment with current and future organizational needs.

- Ensure that the GA team is thoroughly trained on corporate financial policies and comprehends all facets of the accounting process relevant to the divisions they support.

- Develop GA Team Leads to manage and coordinate the general accounting team for specific divisions, collaborating with division teams to analyze period results and finalize accounting treatment decisions.

- Ensure GA Team Leads are equipped to assist legal entities and divisions with all accounting activities in compliance with fiscal and statutory requirements.

Operational Management:
- Supervise daily shared services GA operations across both internal and outsourced teams, ensuring effective service delivery and accurate month-end closing and reporting.

- Foster a performance-driven culture to meet or exceed commitments across divisions, legal entities, and corporate service delivery standards.

- Act as the escalation point for resolving GA service delivery issues and guide the resolution of challenges across retained, captive, and outsourced teams.

- Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate exceptions and meet committed service levels.

- Mentor GA Team Leads and third-party service provider leads in addressing complex general accounting challenges.

- Maintain a focus on process enhancements and the implementation of best practices.

- Establish processes for exception management and reporting to identify, document, and resolve quality and process exceptions.

- Collaborate with the RTR Global Process Manager (GPM) to design detailed RTR processes for general accounting.

- Drive the standardization and documentation of complex processes for transition to Shared Services.

Stakeholder Engagement:
- Maintain relationships with division and retained accounting teams, as well as peer regional GA delivery leads for the RTR process.

- Partner with IT to execute applicable GA process harmonization and business systems specific to the region.

- Ensure the integrity of internal controls in collaboration with the compliance team.

- Support statutory compliance and prepare for internal and external audits related to GA.

- Provide oversight and support for addressing audit findings across internal and third-party service providers as necessary.

- Ensure compliance with tax and fiscal obligations.

Reporting Structure:
- As a direct report to the Record to Report (RTR) Regional Director, the Accounting Operations Manager is an integral member of the management team and provides direct support to the RTR Global Process Owner (GPM), Division Controllers, FP&A teams, and the Retained Accounting team.
