The Opportunity

This position may work out of our Abbott Park, IL or Columbus, OH location supporting our Abbott Nutrition Corporate Financial Services business. 

 

As the Senior Accountant, Abbott Nutrition Corporate Financial Services (CFS) Record to Report (RTR) you will be responsible to prepare journal entries, prepare monthly consolidated reporting packages and other analysis supporting the Nutrition division; serve as liaison between our Shared Service Third Party provider, FP&A and CFS RTR; and drive process improvements. The Senior Accountant will perform accounting related work as well as financial reporting. The Senior Accountant will assist the ANHQ FP&A team with various reporting requests. Additional opportunities exist to participate in month-end calculations of Trading Company Gross Margin (TCGM) credits to business units.

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

·         Complete monthly consolidated reporting packages - Profit Review Package, Monthly Reporting Package (MRP) and Supplemental Reporting Package (SRP) for Abbott Nutrition.

·         Liaise with FP&A, CFS, and other Americas Hub team members to execute the financial close, provide guidance, and work together to improve processes.

·         Perform ad hoc request as requested by management including creating new reporting to increase management visibility into business performance.

·         Prepare analysis for CFS journal entries.

·         Ensure compliance with internal controls and provide support for SOX and internal audit.

·         Ensure compliance with policies and procedures including CFMs.

·         Complete external and internal audits and Sox requests.

·         Utilize SAP, Cognos and HFM to view documents and account balances, run reports, analyze and utilize data for analytics.

·         Provide guidance to Shared Service Third Party Accounting colleagues.

·         Review and assist in maintenance of Third Party Shared Services Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Provide on the job training (OJT) as necessary for new Shared Service Third Party activities.

·         Efficiently complete Microsoft Excel spreadsheets including pivot tables, vlookups, conditional formatting, and analysis of data.

·         Track and report on product flows from OUS manufacturing sites, and post TCGM credits to US and Puerto Rico entities.

·         Elevate issues and recommend solutions.

·         Coordinate a global balance sheet deep dive review process for Abbott Nutrition to analyze the aging and accuracy of account balances.

·         Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for global systems (HFM/SAP).

·         Operate independently within a varied and changing scope of responsibilities under some supervision.

·         Complete special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

·         Bachelorâs degree in Accounting/Finance and/or Business or equivalent experience.

·         4+ years related work experience with at least 2+ years month end financial reporting, consolidating and presenting commentary.

·         SAP and HFM experience.

The base pay for this position is $72,700.00 â $145,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
