Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Food Service Worker to join our team at Altru Hospital. As a key member of our food service operation, you will be responsible for handling cash and credit transactions, preparing and delivering food, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver food to customers, special functions, and service areas in a timely manner.
  • Set up functions professionally, accurately, and in a timely manner, meeting customer expectations.
  • Deliver trays to patients, set up trays, and unwrap food items, notifying nurses if additional assistance is required.
  • Prepare tube feedings according to standard operating procedure.
  • Monitor and report any deviations in refrigerator or freezer temperatures to Maintenance.
  • Collect and record dish machine temperatures as assigned, and complete documentation of food temperatures.
  • Follow department standards when preparing food items and show attention to detail in foods produced.
  • Order needed supplies according to department standard operating procedures.
Requirements
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of productivity.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
  • Basic math skills and accuracy with cash handling.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a hospital environment, with frequent exposure to food preparation and handling. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a team environment and maintain a high level of professionalism.
