Custodial Worker Job Description

At Kalix, we are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodial Worker to join our team. As a Custodial Worker, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Clean restrooms, including fixtures, floors, walls, and mirrors, to ensure they are free of debris, streaks, and dirt.
  2. Restock supplies as needed to maintain a well-stocked environment.
  3. Sweep and mop floors to remove dirt, debris, and lint.
  4. Vacuum carpets and mats to remove dust, dirt, and lint.
  5. Scrub, wax, and/or buff floors as needed to maintain a clean and shiny surface.
  6. Remove splashes and stains from walls to maintain a clean and tidy environment.
  7. Clean windows, doors, and drinking fountains to ensure they are free of dirt and debris.
  8. Empty trash from receptacles and haul it to designated areas.
  9. Dust ceiling vents, pictures, lights, and other areas to maintain a clean and organized environment.
  10. Spot clean tables, counters, and rails to maintain a clean and tidy environment.
  11. Shampoo carpets using a carpet shampooer to maintain a clean and fresh environment.
  12. Pick up foreign material around the building perimeter to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  13. Spray down equipment and machines with a pressure hose in a safe manner.
  14. Clean all foreign particles off machines and equipment.
  15. Spray all machines and equipment with sanitizer to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
  16. Shine chrome and wash down doors to maintain a clean and polished appearance.
  17. Maintain established policies, procedures, quality control, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  18. Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  1. Must have a positive attitude and be reliable.
  2. Must have initiative and work as part of a team.
  3. Must complete a successful background check.
  4. Must have good interpersonal skills.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  1. Ability to operate custodial equipment, including vacuum, floor scrubber, buffer, wax tools, and carpet shampooer.
  2. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and bend, reach, and grasp items.
  3. Ability to work in a hot and humid environment.
  4. Ability to determine if employer standards have been met for cleanliness.
