Job Summary

The University of Iowa Health Care department of Food & Nutrition is seeking a skilled Clinical Dietitian II to join our team. This role will utilize the Nutrition Care Process to assess, evaluate, and provide medical nutrition therapy and nutrition counseling for adult and geriatric inpatients in our behavioral health units. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to teach dietetic students and participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop nutritional components of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess nutritional status and provide education and counseling to patients and their families.
  • Participate in health team rounds and contribute to the development of nutritional care plans.
  • Teach and mentor dietetic students in the clinical setting.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in nutrition and dietetics.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Food and Nutrition or Dietetics or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of clinical nutrition experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated competency in patient care in pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
