Job Summary

The University of Iowa Health Care department of Food & Nutrition is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Behavioral Health Clinical Dietitian II to join our team. This is a full-time position located in Iowa City, Iowa.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate the nutritional needs of adult and geriatric patients in our behavioral health units.
  • Develop and implement personalized nutrition plans to promote optimal health and well-being.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop nutritional components of care.
  • Teach and mentor dietetic students in clinical nutrition practices.
  • Participate in health team rounds and contribute to short-term projects.
  • Conduct peer chart reviews and audits to ensure high-quality care.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in clinical nutrition.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Food and Nutrition or Dietetics or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of clinical nutrition experience, preferably in an inpatient setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated competency in patient care across a wide range of medical conditions.
  • Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensure by the State of Iowa are required.
