Senior Structural Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Engineer to join our team at Colliers Engineering & Design. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing structural engineering solutions for a variety of projects. Your expertise in structural analysis, design principles, and building codes will be essential in delivering high-quality projects that meet the needs of our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Perform engineering calculations using computer software, spreadsheets, and hand calculations.
- Create structural design plans and details in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Coach and mentor junior staff members.
- Conduct site visits to observe construction progress and survey structural components of existing buildings.
- Coordinate with architects, owners, and other engineering disciplines.
- Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs.
- Perform QA/QC related tasks.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- 10+ years of professional structural engineering experience.
- AutoCAD proficiency required.
- Proficient in Revit required.
- Intermediate to advanced understanding of structural design software, such as RISA, RAM, TEKLA, TEDDS, SAFE, PROFIS, etc.
- Strong understanding of steel, concrete, masonry, and wood design principles.
- Knowledge of current building and material design codes and standards, such as IBC, ASCE7, AISC360, ACI318, ACI 530, or NDS.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English for job-related communications and verbal instructions.
