Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to join our team in Buffalo, NY. The ideal candidate will possess a high level of energy and a strong desire to accomplish great things within our engineering group. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a well-established engineering firm specializing in the design and construction of bridges.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Bridge Engineer, you will be responsible for project management and engineering, from conception to completion, including proposal preparation, design and construction documents, and construction administration under the guidance of senior managers. You will actively participate in expanding our engineering operations and boosting our market reach. You will support targeted and personalized outreach efforts for local and regional clients while retaining and improving current client relationships. You will apply engineering principles and produce high-quality deliverables, including the assembly of plans and specifications for public advertisement and bidding. You will also be able to work in a team environment and actively assist, mentor, and support junior personnel.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a BS in Civil Engineering from an accredited university and a New York State Professional Engineer (PE) license. You will have 10 or more years of meaningful experience related to bridge engineering design and management. You will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and demonstrate leadership skills. You will have preliminary and final design and plan production experience, and bridge load rating experience is an additional benefit. You will be competent in the use of relevant software, including MS Office, and have experience and familiarity with computer drafting and structural analysis software. You will have a sound knowledge of AASHTO and NYSDOT Standard Specifications, and knowledge of NYSDOT's Locally Administered Federal Aid project process for highway and bridge projects is a plus. You will have good writing and strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team to execute tasks in order to complete projects on time and budget.
