Position Overview

The Pilot in Command plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe, legal, and efficient operation of company aircraft.

  • Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Chief Pilot.
  • Authority: Holds ultimate responsibility for the safe operation of aircraft owned by Chantilly Air, Inc.
  • Operational Duties: Executes all tasks related to aircraft operation in compliance with 14 CFR Part 91, including airworthiness checks, maintaining proper documentation and manuals, conducting weight and balance calculations, assessing weather conditions, evaluating performance, managing fueling processes, and ensuring the aircraft is operated within manufacturer and company guidelines.
  • Team Leadership: Directs the Second In Command's activities, ensuring all flight crew members are aware of their specific responsibilities.
  • Safety Commitment: Advocates for a safe operational environment in line with FAA regulations and Chantilly Air's safety protocols, actively contributing to the company's Safety Management System.
  • Policy Adherence: Complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Professional Representation: Expected to maintain a professional demeanor as a representative of the company in all settings.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Must meet currency requirements as stipulated by FAA regulations.
  • Medical Standards: Required to hold a current 1st Class Medical certificate as per company policy.
  • Customer Service: Delivers exceptional professionalism and customer service.
  • Collaboration: Works collaboratively with all departments, assisting with various duties as necessary.
Educational Background

A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills

  • Preferred total flight experience of 3000 hours in fixed-wing aircraft.
  • Preferred 2000 hours of Pilot in Command experience in fixed-wing aircraft.
  • Lear 45 Type Rating is preferred.
  • Preferred 250 hours of turbine flight time.
  • Possession of an FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator's Permit.
  • Current FAA First Class Medical certificate is required.
  • No history of accidents or incidents.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must successfully complete the following checks:
    • Pre-employment drug screening.
    • PRIA background check (including any incidents/accidents).
    • Credit history check.
    • DMV check with a valid driver's license.
    • Employment verification.
  • Fluency in reading, speaking, and writing in English is required.
  • Willingness to relocate within a 2-hour radius of the company’s base of operations.
  • Must meet all international travel requirements related to health regulations.
Work Environment

The working conditions are typical for an on-demand flight operation, subject to varying climate conditions, air turbulence, time zone changes, altitude variations, and other dynamic factors.

Physical Demands

This position requires physical activities such as pulling, pushing, kneeling, twisting, climbing, squatting, bending, and lifting of equipment.
