Director of Community Impact and Health Initiatives

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Community Impact Director. This role will play a critical part in shaping the future of healthcare and community development in the Central Florida area.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute community health improvement plans to achieve population-level change.
- Collaborate with a broad range of partners to build and execute community-wide strategies that focus on eliminating disparities through proven-effective sustainable health interventions.
- Ensure improvement in the quality and delivery of healthcare in local systems by recruiting clinical partners to participate in the Association's ambulatory Quality Improvement (QI) programs.
- Collaborate with development staff to identify, cultivate, and secure program funding, including sponsorships and grant awards for relevant programs, campaigns, and health impact opportunities.
- Build a network of advocates and volunteers, and identify appropriate external partners to drive meaningful engagement to advance American Heart Association priorities and drive toward equitable health and wellbeing in the community.
- Work cross-functionally within the organization to identify opportunities for collaboration and synergies to most effectively execute American Heart Association priority initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in public health, health administration, or health education, or equivalent work experience in a health-related field or community programs.
- 5 years of demonstrated ability working in community/public health, working on community/public health issues through a racial equity lens, planning, implementing, and/or evaluating program health interventions, leading or supporting policy, system, or environmental changes.
- Required experience working with multicultural communities.
- Demonstrated community relationships and experience with community engagement, mobilization, or organizing with a diverse group of community members across race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, disability, immigration, and/or socio-economic status.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills in assessing the local market environment and available resources to successfully implement new and existing programs.
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently participate in a multi-disciplinary team environment working towards common goals with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work with stakeholders across multiple sectors (education, faith, business, healthcare, government).
- Ability to influence team members without supervisory authority.
- Excellent listening skills, including verbal and non-verbal communication, active listening, negotiating, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- Self-motivated, collaborative, flexible, effective organizational skills, multi-tasking, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple large projects ensuring deadlines are met, quickly pull together information and stakeholders to move a project forward, use health data and public health best practices to select interventions.
- Must have at least intermediate knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office 2010 or higher used for word processing, email, presentations, and spreadsheets.
- Ability and willingness to occasionally travel outside the market and to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken).
- Ability to do daily local travel up to 75%; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis.
