Compensation: $37,000-$43,000 annually

Community Health Action of Staten Island (CHASI) is committed to enhancing the health of New Yorkers through a variety of services and initiatives aimed at supporting at-risk populations.

ROLE SUMMARY:

  • Engage in outreach initiatives to connect with individuals at high risk for HIV
  • Provide education to community members regarding effective prevention methods
  • Facilitate access to support services, including PrEP and PEP
  • Collaborate with various service organizations to ensure comprehensive care

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute outreach programs alongside peers
  • Assess individuals for potential risk behaviors
  • Assist in program enrollment processes
  • Offer counseling on HIV prevention techniques
  • Ensure clients attend scheduled appointments
  • Gather and maintain accurate data on outreach activities
  • Conduct presentations and educational workshops
  • Work in partnership with staff members
  • Uphold the values and mission of CHASI

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Preferred certification as a recovery coach
  • Ability to connect with diverse community groups
  • Understanding of HIV, STIs, and PrEP/PEP
  • Experience in harm reduction strategies
  • Background in community outreach
  • Strong skills in teamwork and communication
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Professional representation of CHASI in all interactions
  • Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are preferred
