Position Summary

We are in search of a Field Operations Engineer tasked with the deployment, upkeep, and enhancement of our autonomous marine vessels (AMVs) for governmental use. You will collaborate closely with our technical and operational teams to guarantee the smooth integration and functionality of our AMV systems across diverse maritime settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deployment: Travel to specified operational sites to install, configure, and activate AMVs in accordance with project specifications.
  • Testing and Enhancement: Perform thorough testing and enhancement of AMV systems in real-world scenarios, ensuring peak performance and dependability.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical challenges related to AMV hardware, software, and communication systems during deployment and operation.
  • Training: Deliver training and technical assistance to end-users, including military personnel and other stakeholders, on the operation and maintenance of AMV systems.
  • Documentation: Develop detailed documentation, including deployment reports, troubleshooting manuals, and best practices, to support knowledge sharing and ongoing improvement.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including engineering, field operations, and project management, to tackle technical issues and promote product advancements.
  • Client Support: Act as a primary resource for client inquiries and support requests, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of challenges.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in deploying and maintaining autonomous systems, ideally within maritime or governmental sectors.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, or Java.
  • Strong grasp of networking principles and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, MQTT).
  • Familiarity with sensor technologies commonly utilized in autonomous navigation (e.g., LiDAR, radar, GPS).
  • Willingness to travel frequently to domestic operational sites (up to 50% travel may be necessary).
