Salary Range: $28-$34 hourly

Position Overview:

The Donor Relations Associate, under the guidance of the Director of Stewardship and Principal Gift Strategy, plays a pivotal role in aiding the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association in fulfilling its development objectives, with a concentrated emphasis on donor stewardship and relations. This role is integral in cultivating and maintaining enduring connections between the LA Phil and its benefactors, ensuring that contributions are acknowledged promptly and appropriately. The Associate will facilitate meaningful recognition of donors and provide comprehensive reports on the utilization and impact of their gifts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize recognition events, including donor signage unveilings and tailored small gatherings, collaborating with Special Events, the Chief Philanthropy Officer's office, Creative Services, and other internal stakeholders to ensure successful execution.
  • Manage all new donor signage and recognition requirements, coordinating with relevant operational teams to update existing signage as necessary.
  • Utilize the donor database, Tessitura, to log contact reports, attendance details, and other essential information, tracking stewardship activities and generating annual reports on engagement efforts.
  • Work alongside Philanthropy Operations to monitor and fulfill gift agreement obligations, including generating reports and reminders for pledge payments, while maintaining organized records of gift agreements.
  • Assist in the creation and customization of high-level acknowledgment letters, ensuring timely completion of the acknowledgment process.
  • Compile ticketing lists for Board members and major donors, distributing them to the Executive Team and across departments to facilitate spontaneous stewardship interactions.
  • Support the Director of Stewardship and Principal Gift Strategy with long-term, cross-departmental initiatives aimed at enhancing stewardship objectives.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3-4 years of experience in a mid- to large-sized non-profit organization, ideally within Development.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Social Science, or Arts preferred.
  • Exceptional professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management capabilities, demonstrating the ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to learning.
  • Intermediate proficiency in desktop applications, internet research, and fundraising software tools (e.g., Microsoft Calendar, Word, Excel, and Tessitura).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Maintain a positive demeanor with donors and colleagues.
  • A background in or knowledge of the musical arts is advantageous but not mandatory.
