About the Role:

The Gilbane team in Southeast FL is seeking an experienced and career-oriented Project Engineer to join our expanding team on projects in the healthcare, education, high rise, multi-family industries (among others).

The Project Engineer in this role will assist the project team in obtaining, evaluating, coordinating and distributing information and authorizations necessary to construct the project on time, within budget and to the quality specified.

This role will sit primarily on the job site, with occasional travel to the office for trainings, meetings, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage the change management process under the direction of the Project Manager
  • Serve as a key player in monthly cost report meetings and contribute with meaningful data/talking points
  • Successfully adhere to the project controls procedures to include monthly cost control, pay requests and cost reporting
  • Effective expediting of material deliveries
  • BS or MS degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • ~5+ years with a construction manager, general contractor organization working on $5-$50 mm construction projects
  • ~ Proven capability to establish specific measurable, attainable performance goals and hold others accountable for achieving them
  • Ability to articulate financial knowledge and customer satisfaction awareness of how the company makes a profit
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt personal communication style to suit the target audience and situation including highly effective presentations, clear and concise writing on complex and sensitive topics, and understanding through paraphrasing and use of relevant examples
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Financial Management familiarity
  • Understanding of Contract Documents & Specifications
