Job Title: Electrical Engineer II - Substation Design Specialist

Puget Sound Energy is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer II to join our Substation Design team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for our substations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical systems for substations, including 230kV, 115kV, and 12.5kV open-air substations and 115kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS)
  • Develop complex engineering plans, designs, specifications, standards, evaluations, and studies associated with new and existing substations
  • Work on projects that involve multiple interrelated elements, requiring strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to ensure project success
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of PSE standards, NEC, NESC, and industry standards
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree or PE license in electrical, mechanical, civil, or other appropriate engineering field
  • Experience in planning, design, specification preparation, technical field work, project cost estimating, and scheduling
  • Strong organizational, documentation, prioritization, and project management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, clearly, and concisely, both verbally and written, to diverse audiences
