Substation Controls Engineer

Puget Sound Energy is seeking a highly skilled Substation Controls Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Engineering Operations team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing control systems for substations containing voltages of 12kV and above.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop control systems for substations, including wiring for switchyard equipment, control house, and control panel devices.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure seamless design and implementation of control systems.
  • Develop project construction drawings, including detailed schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Provide field support and technical expertise to ensure successful project completion.
  • Support emergency response operations and uphold safety compliance standards.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or other appropriate engineering field.
  • Experience in planning, design, specification preparation, technical field work, project cost estimating, and scheduling.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and control systems design principles.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
