About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Modeling and Simulation Engineer to join our team at Raytheon. As a key member of our integrated product team, you will be responsible for creating high-fidelity simulations and models for missile design, performance assessment, and flight test support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement modeling solutions to evaluate system and subsystem performance
  • Conduct trade studies and provide technical expertise for simulation products
  • Collaborate with Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC), Signal Processing, and other department personnel to perform simulation activities
  • Work on diverse projects, determine approaches and solutions, and provide development guidance throughout the product lifecycle
  • Provide technical expertise for simulation products and assist senior Modeling Engineers in the preparation of detailed plans
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree
  • Eight (8) years or more of documented work and/or academic experience in modeling, simulation, statistics, or analysis for existing or proposed engineering solutions
  • Experience programming in C, C++, or other high-order language and experience using MATLAB or Python for evaluation of data sets
  • Two (2) years experience managing others and interacting with other engineering disciplines
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related STEM degree
  • Leadership experience managing others using applied system engineering principles, experience working on a team and by yourself, interfacing with multiple engineering disciplines, and developing and presenting technical briefings
  • Experience developing signal processing / GNC algorithms or models for missile applications
  • Experience with Control Hardware Design and Test, hardware/software integration, modeling physics and physical systems as related to flight dynamics
