About the Role

The Director of Finance will be a key partner to the executive leadership, ensuring accurate reporting of Flexospan's finances. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of federal and multi-state tax reporting, and experience in establishing financial strategies to ensure long-term fiscal security for Flexospan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain strong professional standards and confidentiality of company information
  • Extensive knowledge in multi-state sales & use tax and fuel tax/IFTA, as well as preparing and filing returns
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and expense reimbursements
  • Assist company management and outside CPA firm with internal and external audits, and annual financial and tax reporting compliance requirements
  • Provide management with short- and long-term operational and strategic financial objectives, offer recommendations, and prepare forecasting reports
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency
  • Analyze financial data and prepare reports to support the executive team, to include identifying trends, variances, and potential areas of improvement
  • Advise the executive team on financial risks and challenges that may impact on the company's profitability
  • Assure the protection of assets through internal control, oversight, and proper insurance coverage
  • Review and negotiate customer and vendor terms and conditions, contracts, and/or purchase orders
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, industry regulations, and company policies
  • Willingness to meet challenges and changes in a positive mindset
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with a concentration in business administration
  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting
  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • Ability to maintain and understand the importance of confidentiality
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail, with exceptional organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and accounting software - Sage 50 preferred
  • Background in manufacturing preferred
