San Francisco, California, United States Succinct Full time

About Our Mission

At Succinct, we are pioneering the accessibility of zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs), a fundamental technology for enhancing blockchain scalability, interoperability, and privacy. Our goal is to simplify the complexity surrounding ZKPs, enabling developers to leverage this powerful technology.

Our flagship product, SP1, is an innovative, fully open-source zkVM that delivers performance on par with bespoke ZK circuits, achieving speeds up to 30 times faster than existing zkVMs. SP1 represents a significant advancement in ZKP adoption, allowing developers to utilize ZKPs through standard Rust programming rather than intricate circuit designs. Additionally, we are developing the Succinct Prover Network, a robust infrastructure layer that facilitates proof generation for open-source proof systems.

We are proud to have established partnerships with leading teams in the blockchain space, including notable names such as Polygon, Sovereign, Celestia, Wormhole, Lido, Taiko, EigenLayer, Avail, Near, and Gnosis. Our track record showcases our commitment to delivering exceptional products and groundbreaking technical solutions in the realm of ZK, resulting in substantial revenue generation.

Recently, we secured $55 million in funding through our Seed and Series A rounds, led by Paradigm, a prominent investor in the cryptocurrency sector. Our team, though small, is exceptionally talented, and we seek individuals who are eager to tackle challenging and impactful problems in a dynamic work environment.

Position Overview

We are in search of a seasoned GPU engineer to conceptualize, develop, and enhance software solutions that facilitate GPU acceleration for our zkVM, SP1, and contribute significantly to the evolution of our hardware-accelerated prover network. In this role, you will:

  • Diagnose and resolve GPU performance constraints
  • Identify performance bottlenecks within both hardware and software
  • Investigate and assess new technologies to elevate system performance
  • Monitor SP1's performance in client environments
  • Coordinate with the team to facilitate functional and performance testing

Required Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of GPU/CPU architecture
  • Proficient knowledge of GPU software stacks (CUDA), compiler technologies, low-level APIs, and operating systems
  • Proactive ownership mentality
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in programming with Rust or C++
  • Background in operating system kernels and/or device driver development

Work Environment

Our team collaborates in a cohesive in-person setting. We are looking for candidates who thrive in a face-to-face work environment. While we prefer individuals already located in the area, we are open to considering exceptional remote candidates who are willing to onboard in person initially.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive salary and generous equity options
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance for employees and their families
  • Complimentary lunch and dinner at the office
  • Company-sponsored travel to industry events and conferences

We welcome passionate individuals who may not meet every qualification but are eager to learn and grow. We encourage you to reach out or apply to explore this opportunity further.
