San Francisco, California, United States Succinct Full time

Overview of Our Mission

Zero-knowledge proofs are pivotal technologies that enhance blockchain scalability, interoperability, and privacy, yet they remain complex for many developers. Succinct aims to simplify the implementation of zero-knowledge proofs, making them accessible to a broader audience of developers.

Our flagship product, SP1, is a cutting-edge, fully open-source zkVM that offers performance comparable to custom ZK circuits, achieving speeds up to 30 times faster than existing zkVMs. SP1 represents a significant advancement in the adoption of zero-knowledge proofs, allowing developers to utilize ZKPs by writing standard code in Rust, rather than navigating intricate circuit designs. Additionally, we are developing the Succinct Prover Network, a hosted infrastructure layer designed for applications to outsource proof generation for open-source proof systems.

Leading teams in the industry, such as Polygon, Sovereign, Celestia, Wormhole, Lido, Taiko, EigenLayer, Avail, Near, and Gnosis, are leveraging Succinct's infrastructure to innovate with zero-knowledge proofs. Our track record includes delivering exceptional products and pioneering technical work in the ZK domain, resulting in substantial revenue generation.

Recently, we secured $55 million in funding through our Seed and Series A rounds, led by Paradigm, a prominent investor in the cryptocurrency sector. Our team, though small, is highly skilled, and we seek outstanding individuals who are eager to tackle challenging and impactful problems in a dynamic environment.

Position Summary

We are in search of a senior GPU engineer to architect, develop, and enhance software solutions that facilitate GPU acceleration for our zkVM, SP1, and to contribute significantly to the advancement of our hardware-accelerated prover network. In this capacity, you will:

  • Assess and resolve GPU performance constraints
  • Identify performance bottlenecks within hardware and software
  • Investigate and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance system efficiency
  • Monitor SP1's performance in client environments
  • Coordinate with the team to facilitate functional and performance testing

Required Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of GPU/CPU architecture
  • Proficient understanding of GPU software stacks (CUDA), compiler technologies, low-level APIs, and operating systems
  • Proactive ownership mentality
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with programming in Rust or C++
  • Background in OS kernel development and/or device driver programming

Work Environment

Our team operates collaboratively in a shared workspace. We prefer candidates who thrive in an in-person setting and are either based locally or willing to relocate. For exceptional senior candidates, we may consider remote work arrangements, provided they can onboard in person for initial training.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive salary and substantial equity options
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance for employees and their families
  • Complimentary lunch and dinner at the office
  • Opportunities for company-sponsored travel to industry events and conferences

We welcome passionate individuals who may not meet every qualification but are eager to learn and grow. We encourage you to reach out or apply, and we look forward to engaging with you.
