Overview of the Project
Zero-knowledge proofs are pivotal technologies for enhancing blockchain scalability, interoperability, and privacy, yet they remain intricate for many developers. Succinct aims to simplify the use of zero-knowledge proofs for all developers.
SP1 represents a cutting-edge, fully open-source zkVM, boasting performance that competes with bespoke ZK circuits and is capable of being up to 30 times faster than existing zkVMs. This innovation marks a significant milestone for the adoption of ZKPs, allowing developers to utilize ZKPs by writing standard code in Rust, rather than engaging with complex circuit designs. The Succinct Prover Network, currently under development, serves as a hosted infrastructure layer enabling applications to outsource proof generation for open-source proof systems.
Currently, leading teams in the industry, such as Polygon, Sovereign, Celestia, Wormhole, Lido, Taiko, EigenLayer, Avail, Near, and Gnosis, are leveraging Succinct's infrastructure to innovate with ZKPs. Our history reflects a commitment to delivering exceptional products and pioneering technical work in zero-knowledge proofs, alongside generating substantial revenue.
Recently, we secured $55 million in funding through our Seed and Series A rounds, led by Paradigm, a premier investor in the cryptocurrency sector. Our team, though small, is exceptionally talented, and we seek outstanding individuals eager to tackle challenging and meaningful problems in a dynamic environment.
Position Responsibilities
We are in search of a senior GPU engineer to conceptualize, develop, and enhance software solutions that facilitate GPU acceleration for our zkVM, SP1, and to significantly contribute to the advancement of our hardware-accelerated prover network. In this role, you will:
- Assess and resolve GPU performance constraints
- Identify performance bottlenecks within hardware and/or software
- Investigate and evaluate new technologies to enhance system performance
- Monitor SP1's performance in client environments
- Coordinate with the team to facilitate functional and performance testing
Required Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of GPU/CPU architecture
- Proficient understanding of GPU software stacks (CUDA), compiler technologies, low-level APIs, and operating systems
- Strong sense of ownership
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in programming with Rust or C++
- Background in OS kernels and/or device driver development
Work Environment
Our team operates collaboratively in a shared workspace. We prefer candidates who thrive in an in-person work setting and are either located in the area or willing to relocate. For senior candidates who are an exceptional fit, we may consider remote arrangements, provided you can onboard in person for the initial period.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary and generous equity options
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance for employees and their families
- Meals provided at the office
- Company-sponsored travel to events and conferences
We welcome passionate individuals who may not meet every qualification but are eager to learn and grow. We encourage you to reach out or apply, and we look forward to connecting.
