San Francisco, California, United States Succinct Full time

Overview of Our Vision

Zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs) represent a pivotal technology for enhancing blockchain scalability, interoperability, and privacy. However, their complexity often poses a barrier for many developers. At Succinct, our goal is to simplify the implementation of zero-knowledge proofs, making them accessible to a broader audience of developers.

Our flagship product, SP1, is a cutting-edge, fully open-source zkVM that delivers performance on par with custom ZK circuits, achieving speeds up to 30 times faster than existing zkVMs. SP1 is a significant advancement in the adoption of ZKPs, allowing developers to utilize ZKPs through standard Rust programming rather than intricate circuit designs. Additionally, we are actively developing the Succinct Prover Network, a hosted infrastructure layer designed to facilitate proof generation for open-source proof systems.

We are proud to have collaborated with leading teams in the blockchain space, including Polygon, Sovereign, Celestia, Wormhole, Lido, Taiko, EigenLayer, Avail, Near, and Gnosis, who leverage Succinct's infrastructure to innovate with ZKPs. Our track record of delivering high-quality products and pioneering technical advancements in zero-knowledge technology has already resulted in substantial revenue.

With a recent funding round of $55 million led by Paradigm, a prominent investor in the cryptocurrency sector, we are poised for growth. Our team, though small, is exceptionally talented, and we seek outstanding individuals eager to tackle challenging and meaningful problems in a dynamic environment.

Position Responsibilities

We are in search of a senior GPU engineer to architect, develop, and enhance software solutions that enable GPU acceleration for our zkVM, SP1, and to play a vital role in the advancement of our hardware-accelerated prover network. Key responsibilities include:

  • Diagnosing and resolving GPU performance constraints
  • Identifying performance bottlenecks within hardware and software
  • Researching and assessing new technologies to boost system performance
  • Monitoring SP1's performance in client environments
  • Coordinating with the team to facilitate functional and performance testing

Essential Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of GPU and CPU architecture
  • Proficient knowledge of GPU software stacks (CUDA), compiler technologies, low-level APIs, and operating systems
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with programming in Rust or C++
  • Background in OS kernel development and/or device driver programming

Work Environment

Our team operates collaboratively in a shared workspace. We prefer candidates who thrive in an in-person setting and are either located in the area or willing to relocate. For exceptional senior candidates, we may consider remote arrangements, provided they can onboard in person initially.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive salary with attractive equity options
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance for employees and their families
  • Complimentary lunch and dinner at the office
  • Company-sponsored travel for events and conferences

We welcome passionate individuals who may not meet every qualification but are eager to learn and grow. We encourage you to reach out or apply, and we look forward to connecting.
