MDS Coordinator Responsibilities
  • Accurately complete resident assessments and document them in accordance with state, federal, and facility regulations.
  • Monitor Medicare assessment schedules and nursing documentation to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
  • Prepare and transmit electronic charting and reports for Medicare, ensuring the accuracy of medical records and coding procedures.
  • Utilize knowledge of the RAI process, including components that govern federal and state regulations with various payors, as well as PDPM guidelines and clinical areas affecting reimbursement under each component.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating patient-specific comprehensive care plans.
  • Implement, maintain, and sustain a Nursing Restorative Program with all necessary components and supportive documentation.
Requirements
  • A valid LPN/RN License is required.
  • A nursing degree from an accredited college or university is necessary.
  • Previous experience and knowledge in MDS are preferred.
  • Experience in a long-term care setting is also preferred.
