Clinical Revenue Associate

The Clinical Revenue Associate will support the clinical teams at Montefiore Medical by gathering necessary documentation for billing purposes, reviewing and updating patient financial information, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of medical billing and coding principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. About the Role
In this key position, you will be responsible for collaborating with clinicians to gather necessary documentation for billing purposes, reviewing and updating patient financial information, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Your expertise in medical billing and coding will enable you to provide valuable insights and guidance to colleagues, contributing to improved revenue collection and enhanced patient satisfaction. Additionally, you will develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including insurance companies, Medicaid, and the NYC department of finance, to ensure seamless communication and resolution of billing queries.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clinicians to gather necessary documentation for billing purposes
- Review and update patient financial information, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Provide expert guidance and support to colleagues on medical billing and coding best practices
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including insurance companies, Medicaid, and the NYC department of finance
- Analyze and resolve billing discrepancies and denials in a timely manner
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance revenue collection and patient satisfaction
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address system bottlenecks and improve overall efficiency
Requirements
- High level of proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel), medical databases (EPIC, office ally, IMA)
- Strong understanding of medical billing and coding principles and practices
- 3+ years of experience in medical billing or coding, preferably with CPC certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clinicians and external partners
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions
Compensation
This is a full-time, 100% grant-funded position offering a competitive salary range of $26.64 per hour.
