At Food Authority, we are committed to providing exceptional service to our customers. As a Driver Helper, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe transportation and delivery of food products to our customers.
Responsibilities:
* Assist drivers with loading and unloading products from trucks or trailers
* Ensure accurate delivery records and reports
* Communicate effectively with clients and customers to resolve complaints
* Liaise with the main office or warehouse logistics team to notify drivers of changes to daily routes
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment
* Operate hand trucks and pallet jacks
Requirements:
* 18 years of age
* Ability to work in incremental weather
* Reliable transportation
* Comfortable working overnight and weekends
* Strong team player
Physical Demands:
* Ability to lift 25/50/80 pounds regularly
* Ability to respond quickly to sounds
* Ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
* Ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
* Ability to see well at night
Accountabilities:
* Ensure all tasks are performed according to company policies and procedures
* Maintain workplace safety
* Load and unload products from trucks or trailers
* Put product away based on customer specifications
* Assist with vehicle inspections before and after each trip
* Operate hand trucks and pallet jacks
* Make sure inventory being delivered matches manifest
* Report any incidents to supervisor immediately
* Attention to detail in all aspects of the safe transportation of food products and documentation
