Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Senior Construction Materials Field Specialist to join our team at ECS Southwest, LLP. As a key member of our Field Services department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of construction materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Field Activities: Conduct on-site observations, testing, and sampling of construction materials, including soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel placement.
  • Testing Procedures: Perform routine field tests for construction materials using various methodologies and testing equipment, adhering to industry standards and compliance.
  • Data Collection: Collect and analyze data from sampling, test results, and inspections, and prepare detailed field reports documenting site observations.
  • Communication: Maintain daily communication with site contractors, project managers, and other team members, ensuring seamless collaboration and information sharing.
  • Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in construction materials testing and inspection.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in construction materials testing and inspection.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Current basic level certifications and willingness to obtain additional advanced certifications.
  • OSHA 10 certification (a plus).
  • Ability to lift up to 85 pounds and carry multiple items throughout the day.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent understanding of heavy construction safety practices and procedures.
  • Proficiency with electronic devices and software applications.
  • Strong math skills and ability to read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering plans.
