Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team. This role involves collaborating with a skilled mechanical design team to develop mechanical and plumbing systems tailored for educational and governmental projects. The Mechanical Project Engineer will play a vital role in implementing energy conservation strategies and supporting MEP construction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct load studies and perform operational analysis.
  • Execute field investigations for system layouts and drawings.
  • Utilize selection software for equipment sizing and vendor coordination.
  • Create HVAC and plumbing plans, employing AutoCAD for drafting.
  • Coordinate designs with other disciplines, including Architectural and Structural.
  • Develop detailed schedules and project documentation.
  • Review and assess submittals.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and participate in construction meetings.
  • Assist with project close-out processes.
  • Support building audits and analyze existing systems.
  • Stay updated on relevant codes and standards.
  • Engage in client presentations and interviews as needed.
  • Participate in industry groups such as ASHRAE and USGBC.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in the HVACR industry with a background in Mechanical or HVAC Engineering.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel; experience with Trace 700 is a plus.
  • Familiarity with additional system design software is advantageous.
  • Experience with Adobe Pro, Bluebeam, or similar tools is preferred.
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Professional certifications are encouraged but not mandatory.
  • Ability to travel as needed; a valid driver's license is essential.
  • Experience in K-12 and public sector projects is beneficial.
