We are seeking an experienced Executive Director of Operations and Development to join our team at Ryman Hospitality Properties. This is a key leadership role that will provide strategic vision and financial leadership for all business units within our company.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Leadership: Create accurate, long-range financial objectives and supporting plans to meet or exceed projected goals.
- Operational Excellence: Review monthly and annual financial statements, sales and activity reports for each business unit, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement to determine areas needing financial improvements.
- Strategic Planning: Lead annual operating and capital planning activities for each business unit and the requisite critical evaluation and presentation of the plans to the company's leadership.
- Community and Hospitality Relations: Develop and maintain critical community, hospitality, and entertainment-related relationships that benefit our company, including governmental agencies, promoters, lobbyists, and local and state tourism officials.
- Performance Metrics and Improvement: Define and implement key performance indicators and metrics, drive improvement initiatives, and encourage a culture of continuous improvement, efficiency, innovation, and customer service.
- Leadership and Guidance: Provide guidance and leadership to entertainment and lodging leaders by defining priorities and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Asset Management: Responsible for and serve as primary contact for Marriott International pertaining to financial, capital, employee, and residential HOA oversight through required asset management practices.
- Concert and Event Strategy: Partner with our company's Ryman Auditorium concerts team and Artist Relations leadership to develop strategies to increase the annual number of concerts and overall profitability.
- Business Development: Partner with our company's Business Development team to successfully develop and execute company sponsorship and growth plans.
- Team Development: Active involvement with recruiting, hiring, and developing team members in support of building and maintaining solid bench strength for future growth.
- Market Analysis: Ability to identify complementary growth opportunities in the market to support broader strategic growth and improve market financial contributions.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business with Entertainment/Hospitality/Operations Management emphasis or other related discipline preferred. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: 15+ years of progressively responsible operations leadership in entertainment venue and/or hospitality business.
- Industry Knowledge: Keen understanding and knowledge of entertainment and hospitality industries, with an exceptional aptitude for venue operations, asset management, and financial statements.
- Business Acumen: Advanced business acumen and revenue development skills, including significant strategic thinking capabilities.
- Leadership: Engaging and motivating leader, compelled to lead by example and drive for strong results.
- Talent Development: Highly skilled in identifying, cultivating, and developing top talent.
- Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across business and multi-functional teams, developing strong business relationships and partnerships.
- Interpersonal and Analytical Skills: Strong interpersonal, analytical, and decision-making skills.
