Job Description

Job Title: Executive Director of Operations

Job Summary:

Tatsu-Ya is seeking an experienced Executive Director of Operations to lead the daily operations of our restaurant unit. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing and overseeing the daily activities of a restaurant, ensuring goals and objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant, including managing staff, inventory, and scheduling.
  • Financial Management: Responsible for the overall financial strength of the restaurant, including sales, food, beverage, labor costs, and controllable cost lines.
  • Employee Management: Hire, train, and develop employees to ensure a high-performing team.
  • Customer Experience: Ensure an outstanding dining experience for all guests by maintaining Tatsu-Ya standards.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee the general ordering and inventory of product within the location.
  • Labor Management: Determine labor needs to meet location goals.
  • Health and Safety: Adhere to all appropriate health code and local jurisdiction food handling requirements, maintain food safety certifications, and model exemplary food health safety practices to all employees.
  • Employee Relations: Oversee employee relations, progressive discipline, employee recognition, and other administrative tasks in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Training and Development: Execute all training and standard operating procedures for the location.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Ensure accurate recording and submission of payroll.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Prior managerial and supervisory skills and experience.
  • Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of operations and culinary management.
  • Skills: Ability to interpret financial data, as needed, to set operational goals. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Software Proficiency: Functions of scheduling and reporting using Restaurant 365 & HotSchedules or other similar software.

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing: Prolonged periods standing.
  • Administrative Work: Periodic administrative work on a computer.
  • Location Access: Must be able to access and navigate the location.
  • Lifting: Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
