This position entails senior-level managerial responsibilities overseeing the daily operations related to facilities, maintenance, and fleet management within the TxDMV. Key responsibilities include:

  • Setting strategic goals and objectives for the agency's facilities and fleet operations.
  • Developing and implementing policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure effective management of resources.
  • Coordinating and assessing business functions to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Managing budgetary needs and monitoring financial expenditures.
  • Supervising a diverse team, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Facilities and Fleet Operations Manager will:

  • Oversee daily activities of staff involved in facilities and fleet management.
  • Establish and approve operational schedules and standards to meet departmental goals.
  • Develop evaluation techniques for assessing program effectiveness.
  • Foster strong communication and interpersonal relationships across the department.
  • Implement and monitor compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with senior management to formulate strategic plans and objectives.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, ensuring proper allocation and monitoring of funds.
  • Conduct data analysis and prepare comprehensive reports for management review.
  • Provide expert guidance on facilities and fleet management issues.
  • Review project plans and specifications, ensuring compliance with agency standards.
  • Participate in program analysis and coordinate with external stakeholders.
  • Supervise staff performance and conduct regular evaluations.
  • Promote a collaborative work environment that encourages staff involvement in problem-solving.
  • Represent the agency in various meetings and inspections as required.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Travel may be necessary for site inspections and meetings, generally not exceeding 5% of the time.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, along with a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in fleet management or facilities administration. A minimum of three years in a managerial role is required.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS

Certification as a Texas Contract Manager (CTCM) is highly desirable.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires regular attendance during standard business hours and may involve physical tasks, including lifting and moving materials. A valid Class 'C' driver's license is necessary for this role.
