Job Summary

The ACE Demonstration Teacher is a key role within the Dallas Independent School District, responsible for providing instructional leadership and support to teachers and students. Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver direct instruction to identified grade levels and content areas, providing on-the-job observations and coaching to fellow teachers.
  • Assist with providing on-campus professional development, aligning with district and ACE priorities.
  • Develop classroom rotations and instructional support plans with campus administration.
  • Serve as a facilitator in the on-campus professional learning community (PLC) time, working with assigned grade levels or content areas.
  • Provide model lessons, coaching, mentoring, and support for campus classroom teachers, as identified by campus administration.
  • Engage in 4-6 hours of professional development per week, focusing on content and program areas as offered by ACE and Academic Services.
  • Work with campus administrative staff to identify individual teachers for coaching cycles, focusing on instructional skill development and student academic progress.
  • Serve as a new teacher mentor program, ensuring all new teachers have an experienced mentor and information about the mentoring program.
  • Participate in monthly ACE leadership development training sessions.
  • Foster positive relationships with stakeholders, cultivating a sense of belonging for teachers and students.
  • Collaborate with assistant principals and ILCs to create content-specific exemplars, analyze student work, and improve instructional practices.

Qualifications
  • Required: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, Valid Texas Teacher Certificate, 3-5 years of teaching experience.
  • Embody ACE core values, mission, and vision statement.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multi-ethnic populations in an urban multicultural setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse community, district staff, parents, and the public.
  • Demonstrated technology skills to create interactive professional development, analyze data, and other duties.
  • Develop strategic intervention models to support student functioning below grade level.
  • Depth of knowledge to coordinate and facilitate content and/or grade level PLC.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with campus administrative staff and district departments.
  • Demonstrated classroom effectiveness with a TEI rating of Proficient I or higher.
