Mural Oncology is a clinical-stage oncology business focused on discovering and developing immunotherapies that may meaningfully improve the lives of patients with cancer. The Company's lead product candidate, nemvaleukin alfa, is an investigational, engineered interleukin-2 (IL-2) cytokine designed to capture and expand the therapeutic benefits of high-dose recombinant human IL-2, while mitigating its hallmark toxicities.

Key Responsibilities:

The Executive Director, Commercial Strategy and Planning will be our first dedicated commercial hire and will bring substantial commercial expertise to Mural Oncology. This person will manage and oversee all commercial-related activities and analyses supporting the development of two programs expected to read out in the first half of 2025. This position will also inform and influence decision making across a portfolio of other clinical-stage and IND-ready oncology programs, and support business development activities.

Key Responsibilities Include:

•Develop comprehensive and strategic launch plans for late-stage development programs, balancing launch success with catalyst-driven funding

•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain a comprehensive portfolio plan for late-stage development programs and new products

•Identify and prioritize strategic initiatives to support the growth and success of new products

•Develop robust commercial forecasts for late-stage development program opportunities in the context of therapeutic area, line of therapy, and competitive landscape

•Provide insight into market and competitive dynamics, including key risks associated with development programs and recognizing key assumptions and decisions that may impact long-term revenue forecasts

•Identify strategic opportunities and present analyses to guide decision making for clinical development and commercial planning activities

Leadership and Collaboration:

•Establish and cultivate a new commercial strategy function in an entrepreneurial environment to help drive decision-making across the organization

•Liaise with multiple functions to influence commercial strategy and planning, including clinical development, research, finance, investor relations, business development, and others

•Support business development activities via clear communication of commercial opportunity to potential partners

Delivery Excellence:

•Create a systematic approach to commercial strategy

•Identify and create recommendations for operational approaches to commercialization by product and geography

•Effectively communicate key research, ideas, results, and potential challenges to various stakeholders across the company

•Work with other functions to define program value and risk, including return on investment and net present values analyses

Requirements:

•Strong background in commercial strategy with experience in building detailed commercial forecasts to support key decision making

•Robust oncology drug development, commercial planning experience, and understanding what it takes to shepherd a molecule through clinical studies to commercial launch

•Experience in preparing for and launching a product, developing and continually refining a commercial strategy to take advantage of evolving market opportunities and competitive landscapes

•Demonstrated ability to assess market opportunities, develop product strategies, and evaluate forecasts

•Demonstrated success in maximizing growth of a product portfolio and optimizing the potential of pipeline products and new indications

•Experience working with R&D organizations to drive optimal portfolio decision making

•Ability to create and fulfill a vision in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders across functions

•Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to translate between business, scientific, and clinical concepts

•Experience with detailed financial analysis and presenting complex information

•Strong leadership, collaboration, relationship building, and interpersonal skills

Education and Qualifications:

•Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline is preferred; an advanced or professional degree is highly desirable (e.g., PhD, MD, or MBA)

•15 years of biopharmaceutical industry experience, including in mid- to late-stage clinical development and commercial planning activities is required. Oncology experience is required;

•Experience in taking product candidates from clinical development through commercial launch

•Strong brand management/marketing acumen and experience launching and growing at least one biopharmaceutical product brand
