Job Title: Sr Director, StrategyThermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a Sr Director, Strategy with exceptional work behaviors to join our world-class team in Grand Island. As a global leader in serving science, we empower our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. With our innovative solutions, we are at the forefront of driving technological advancements and supporting patients in need. This role can be based in Waltham, MA, Grand Island, NY or MD.
Responsibilities:- Lead the planning, execution, and management of projects for the Biologicals and Chemicals Division, ensuring a strategic approach.
- Support the division's ambitious growth targets of 10% annually in a complex, dynamic, evolving market.
- Develop and drive M&A and partnering strategy for the division, in collaboration with our business theses, Group, and Corporate.
- Be a contributing leader of division leadership team, ensuring collaboration and achievement of growth targets.
- Lead a team of strategy professionals, project managers, and marketing professionals to drive business performance.
- Implement important business initiatives, including exploring new opportunities, overseeing regional projects, and developing new areas of the business.
- Foster a high-performance team by recruiting, nurturing, and involving employees who demonstrate exceptional skills and a strong drive to succeed.
- Drive cross-functional and cross-business collaboration to achieve business results.
- Demonstrate and champion core authentic leadership behaviors and promote diversity.
- 10+ years of experience in strategy in a business with at least $600M in revenue.
- Experience with M&A and integration efforts.
- Strong understanding of and experience in life sciences, chemicals, or similar industries.
- Demonstrated history of achieving successful outcomes with a strong emphasis on prompt action.
- Proven capability in crafting and implementing strategic plans.
- Strong talent management and people development skills.
- Strong track record of driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Strong ability to collaborate and work effectively in a complex and interconnected work environment.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in a relevant course of study; MBA and/or additional advanced degree preferred.
- Self-motivated and a driving force in their current or past organizations.
- Excellent project management abilities with the capacity to oversee short-term goals and long-term strategic objectives.
- Executive presence and strong presentation skills.
- Approximately 25% travel (primarily domestic/US travel).
