- Monitor and maintain surveying tools and materials to ensure successful project completion.
- Confirm and deliver project control surveys and benchmarks.
- Conduct field surveys and layouts for all components related to road construction (including walls, drainage, bridges, earthworks, utilities, etc.) in a precise and timely manner.
- Assist Quality Control as needed to validate field layouts and survey information.
- Gather and document as-built survey data as necessary to ensure compliance and precision.
- Identify, track, and compute quantities required for billing applications and forecasts.
- Offer technical support as needed for machine control operations and grade checking personnel.
- Provide training to project staff in surveying, machine control technology, and methodologies.
- Conduct monthly equipment verification.
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
- Perform daily maintenance and preparation of surveying equipment and vehicles.
- Execute additional tasks as assigned.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in surveying for heavy roadway projects of similar or larger scope.
- High School Diploma required.
- Extensive knowledge of surveying practices and heavy civil construction machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, translating them into field survey data.
- Familiarity with GPS technology, machine control systems, and modern surveying equipment.
- Experience in at least two comparable projects in the same role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Capability to lift 25 to 50 lbs multiple times daily.
- Aptitude for working collaboratively in a team setting.
- Comfortable working outdoors.
- Ability to access all areas of a job site.
- Ability to perform well under pressure.
