Position Overview:

As a Senior Mechanical & Automation Hardware Engineer, you will be instrumental in the design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems and automation hardware at Brambles. Your expertise in mechanical engineering and automation will enable you to spearhead projects that implement advanced hardware solutions, driving improvements in efficiency, reliability, and overall performance. You will collaborate with various teams, ensure compliance with industry standards, and contribute to the advancement of automation technologies within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the design and development of mechanical systems and components tailored for automation hardware.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of mechanical components.
  • Manage prototype development processes for design validation and enhancement.
  • Conduct thorough analyses to optimize system designs and reduce variability.
  • Engage with suppliers to ensure cost-effective production and assembly processes.
  • Develop and implement testing protocols to verify compliance with specifications.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for process optimization and enhancements.
  • Review and assess design documentation, technical drawings, and specifications.
Challenges:
  • Managing extended work periods during project execution.
  • Collaborating effectively across diverse time zones and cultures.
  • Working independently while influencing project teams.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 8-10 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering, particularly in automation hardware.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools.
  • Strong knowledge of automation technologies.
  • Experience in prototype development and adept problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Skills and Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with motion control systems and robotic programming.
  • Expertise in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Understanding of materials science and supply chain management.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
  • Basic financial management capabilities.
