Job Title: Senior Scientist, PharmacologyJob Summary:

The Department of Pharmacology at the University of Virginia seeks a highly skilled Senior Scientist to oversee the operations of a mass spectrometry facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting day-to-day management of the facility, preparing and analyzing small molecules, and maintaining equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting day-to-day management of the mass spectrometry facility
  • Preparing and analyzing small molecules for internal and external investigators
  • Maintaining equipment and ensuring optimal performance
  • Developing and implementing new methods and techniques for mass spectrometry
  • Collaborating with researchers and scientists to advance research goals
Qualifications:

Qualified candidates must have a doctoral degree in a relevant field, such as pharmacology, biochemistry, or analytical chemistry. A strong publication track record and experience with LC/MS approaches are required. Familiarity with R, Python, and bioinformatic tools is also desired.
