Position Overview:
Siemens Smart Infrastructure is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to be part of our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be tasked with the implementation, management, and coordination of the supplier quality program within our facility. This position requires expertise in data analysis to tackle intricate supply chain challenges, alongside a proactive approach to minimizing risks associated with products and customer satisfaction.

Your Contributions Will Include:

  • Overseeing supplier compliance with Siemens quality standards.
  • Diagnosing technical issues with suppliers, identifying root causes, and executing corrective measures while enhancing supplier performance.
  • Maintaining comprehensive records and databases of supplier quality metrics. Evaluating supplier performance and communicating findings to management.
  • Engaging in strategic supplier development initiatives and leading various projects to successful completion.
  • Monitoring engineering modifications and collaborating with engineering and quality teams for necessary approvals. Executing vendor PPAPs (Product Part Approval Process) in a timely manner.
  • Assisting production, incoming inspection, and warranty teams in resolving supplier-related issues. Liaising with suppliers to address non-conformances and ensuring timely implementation of corrective actions.
  • Supporting the creation and upkeep of supplier quality metrics and reporting systems.
  • Tracking and communicating supplier deviations to ensure timely corrections are made.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to suppliers for the successful launch of new products.

Qualifications We Value:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a Quality or Manufacturing Engineering role within a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience conducting supplier audits and evaluations.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings accurately.
  • Familiarity with ERP software.
  • Strong analytical skills, with expertise in root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
  • Proficient in utilizing various inspection tools and equipment for dimensional accuracy and functionality.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of quality management tools and techniques (e.g., FMEA, SPC, root cause analysis).
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience with SAP systems.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Certification as an internal auditor.
