This role is integral to the Supplier Quality Management (SQM) team at Lockheed Martin, operating within the Quality & Mission Success division. The position reports directly to the SQM Operations Manager.

The selected candidate will serve as an Advanced Quality Engineer, engaging in various SQM initiatives aimed at achieving Zero Defects within the supply chain.

As a key member of the Advanced Quality Team, the individual will act as a technical consultant across multiple programs and technology sectors, ensuring adherence to quality standards and engineering requirements throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate and implement effective strategies to reduce defects and enhance SQE competencies.
  • Drive standardization and foster collaboration with various departments and leadership.

Advanced Quality Techniques:

Expertise in the application and leadership of methodologies such as Six Sigma, FMEA, and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).

Project Management Skills:

Demonstrated capability in managing intricate projects, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and execution.

Leadership Qualities:

Proven experience in guiding and inspiring teams to meet quality goals.

Communication Proficiency:

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Technical Knowledge:

In-depth understanding of aerospace quality standards and regulations.

The chosen candidate will be responsible for collaborating with various internal and external functions to address technical and contractual challenges, ensuring alignment with the quality and cost-effectiveness objectives set by Lockheed Martin programs.

This position entails significant travel, approximately 75-80%.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or STEM field, or equivalent experience in Quality Assurance.
  • Expertise in Root Cause Corrective Action.
  • Proven history of successful continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in Project Management.
  • Development of performance improvement plans, such as return-to-green plans or zero-defect plans.

Desired Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of product quality engineering processes and hardware.
  • Familiarity with Quality Systems, including AS9100 and ISO 9001:2008.
  • Ability to identify risks and opportunities, applying Lean and Six Sigma tools effectively.
  • Green Belt Certification or progress towards Black Belt.
  • Facilitation and practical Lean/Six Sigma experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data analysis.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer.
  • Process mapping capabilities.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across functions, build consensus, and influence outcomes.

Security Clearance:

This position requires a government security clearance; candidates must be U.S. citizens.

Work Environment:

The selected individual will have a hybrid work schedule, combining remote work with time at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Specific weekly schedules will be discussed during the hiring process.
