We are in search of a seasoned and strategic Vice President of Finance to become an integral part of our leadership team. Key Responsibilities:

The Vice President of Finance will guide the organization in critical financial decision-making, providing innovative strategic leadership that ensures the financial prosperity, sustainability, and expansion of Plymouth Place. Key responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating and assessing financial performance in relation to long-term operational objectives, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Formulating strategic financial plans aimed at enhancing revenue and minimizing costs.
  • Engaging in pivotal decisions concerning strategic initiatives and operational frameworks with a strong emphasis on revenue enhancement and profitability.
  • Overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and management of current and future investments and capital structures.
  • Collaborating with departments to align overall goals, initiatives, and recommendations.
  • Utilizing forward-looking models and activity-based analysis to provide financial insights into the organization’s plans and operational budgets.
  • Partnering with the Executive Director, CEO, President, and/or Board of Directors to develop short-term and long-term plans, projections, and budgets.
  • Negotiating and monitoring all client and vendor contracts.
  • Preparing and presenting monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, budget forecasts, and cash flow analyses.
  • Supervising the finance and accounting team.
  • Reviewing and ensuring adherence to internal controls, compliance, and financial procedures.
  • Guaranteeing the timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data for the Executive Director, CEO, President, and Board of Directors.
  • Enhancing and implementing financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and controls to facilitate clean audits with minimal adjustments.
  • Ensuring that all financial approval processes are established and adhered to, maintaining records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Setting the organization up for success to achieve budgetary goals.
  • Managing cash flow planning processes and ensuring availability of funds.
  • Overseeing cash, investments, and asset management functions.
  • Complying with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations while maintaining knowledge of and following all Plymouth Place policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.
  • Participating in in-service and educational programs.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required; an MBA and CPA are preferred.

• Extensive experience in finance (15+ years) in progressively responsible roles.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a CFO is required; experience in the Senior Living/CCRC sector is mandatory.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities.

• Strong leadership and communication skills.

• Proficient presentation skills for engaging with staff, residents, families, board members, and at industry conferences.

• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements.

• Ability to effectively manage and mentor the finance team, serving as a positive role model for other staff members.

• Capacity to foster collaboration across various disciplines.

• Expertise in financial modeling and forecasting.

• Familiarity with risk management principles.

• Proficiency with financial software, data analytics, and emerging technologies.

• Ability to analyze data, develop forecasts, and create actionable plans.

• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English to effectively perform job duties and communicate with residents, families, and employees.
