Job Overview

As a key member of our Lift Operations team at Vail Resorts, the Team Lead Lift Operations Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our resort lifts. This position requires a strong leader who can effectively manage daily lift operations, including scheduling staff, maintaining lift documentation, and overseeing the execution of opening and closing procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily lift operations, including scheduling staff and maintaining lift documentation
  • Assist with on-mountain training of lift operators and leads in daily operations and safety procedures
  • Monitor and document lift operator performance and behavior, providing feedback and direction as needed
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and enforce all applicable laws, policies, and procedures to ensure guest safety
  • Collaborate with ski patrol, mountain safety, lift maintenance, and lift electric teams to resolve any issues that may arise on the mountain
  • Embody our Commitment to Zero campaign by maintaining a safe and clean lift shack, sorting and removing trash as needed
  • Provide exceptional guest service, responding to questions, comments, and complaints in a timely and professional manner
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required
  • 1-2 years of previous lift or mountain operations experience required
  • Ability to physically assist guests while loading lifts, lifting up to 40 lbs
  • Fluent communication skills in English
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, holidays, and weekends
