Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Meat and Seafood Team Lead to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our store leadership team, you will be responsible for assisting the Team Leader in all aspects of daily operations, including profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and Develop Team Members: Partner with the Team Leader to select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel team members to build and sustain a high-performance team and minimize turnover.
  • Model and Deliver Outstanding Customer Service: Foster a positive work environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale, and model and deliver outstanding customer service to ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • Maximize Productivity and Efficiency: Work with the Team Leader to achieve sales, margin, expense, and labor targets, and maximize productivity and efficiency through proper scheduling.
  • Ensure Compliance and Quality: Follow and comply with established procedures, including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices, and ensure that all cases and shelves are clean, well-stocked, and properly rotated.
  • Develop Product Knowledge: Demonstrate advanced product knowledge, maintain awareness of new products, and regularly incorporate new products into the overall product mix.
Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: 1+ year of leadership experience in a retail environment, preferably in meat and seafood.
  • Customer Service Focus: Strong customer service focus and ability to work effectively with customers to resolve concerns and provide a positive shopping experience.
  • Store Operations: Experience with store operations, including inventory management, labor management, and cost control.
  • Team Orientation: Strong team orientation and ability to work collaboratively with team members to achieve store goals.
