Position Summary:
The Patient Access Coordinator plays a vital role in facilitating patient appointments and serving as a key point of contact for inquiries related to billing and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Appointment Coordination:
- Manage scheduling for all patient appointments, ensuring efficient coordination of services within the healthcare system.
- Gather and provide necessary medical records and educational materials to enhance patient understanding.
- Billing Liaison:
- Act as a resource for patients and families regarding billing inquiries and service-related questions.
- Assist with requests for billing documentation, including price estimates and itemized statements.
- Patient Support:
- Address and resolve patient complaints, directing issues to the appropriate departments when necessary.
- Update patient information and assist with account adjustments as needed.
- Document all interactions with patients to ensure accurate records.
- Additional Duties:
- Handle prior authorizations, referrals, and complex scheduling tasks as required.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support clinic operations.
- Minimum age of 18 with relevant education or experience.
- 0 to 2 years of experience in a similar role within a clinic setting.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in medical reception or customer service.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology is essential.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an Associate's or Vocational degree.
- Experience in medical reception or a related program.
- Prior scheduling experience using electronic medical records is advantageous.
- Primarily sedentary work.
- Occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.
