Job Summary

Hennepin County's Grants Management and Administration department is seeking a skilled professional to fill the Grant Coordinator position. This role will provide critical support for the organization's grant management and administration functions, ensuring effective grant operations, robust internal and financial controls, and improved processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and respond to grant opportunities, conducting cost/benefit analyses and coordinating efforts to align with the county's priorities and strategic objectives.
  • Develop materials to provide guidance to business areas and deliver trainings and educational sessions to support grant management and administration.
  • Develop, implement, and operationalize grant projects to ensure optimal performance, compliance, and outcomes for county residents.
  • Support GMA's operations and grant management functions, ensuring grants are administered equitably and effectively.
Requirements
  • Eight or more years of experience in general administrative work relating to the management of departmental/organizational operations or in a specialty area appropriate to the position.
  • Or, a Bachelor's degree or higher in public administration, business administration, or other field appropriate to the position, and four years of experience in general administrative work relating to the management of departmental/organizational operations or in a specialty area appropriate to the position.
  • Experience in grant writing, project management, grant prospecting, or meeting compliance requirements is highly desirable.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including customer service, interaction with clients, and public speaking skills.
